"Wild One" Birthday Party

KS turned one a while back, but yesterday, we finally got to celebrate!  We decided we would use a theme that's all over Pinterest: Wild One.  With this, you have the choice to use it as a Where the Wild Things Are theme, or you can choose to do it more like a woodlands/wildlife theme.  We chose the latter!

Most of our decorations were bought from Hobby Lobby (with the exception of a few finds at Walmart!)  They actually did have a "Wild One" theme in their party aisle but I only bought a few of the items, like these cupcake toppers!.  The animal cupcake toppers weren't actually part of the theme but were right next to it.  I will share the link to those here in case you're interested.

This incredible smash cake was made personally by my amazing mama!  She stayed up late the night before putting the finishing touches on it to make it photo-worthy.  We are so blessed to have someone crafty around, because I am NOT. 😉

Because who wouldn't want donuts at a birthday party???
Pinterest idea carried out by my fantastic mother-in-law!

Our birthday gift to our little guy was this cool teepee!  We looked at several different ones online before we decided to order this one from Amazon!  We were torn between the ones with designs and the plain white ones.  A plain white one gives us the option to change it up with lights and banners whenever we want!

We sat him in front of the teepee for him to eat his cake.  I could explain how that went, but I will just show you instead.

I may have gotten a little impatient...

My dad, aka "Poppy" was standing off to the side and came to our rescue.  He was able to get him to at least try the cake, even if he never did fully dig into it.  He's definitely got a mind of his own!

The party really was a success and I was happy with how everything turned out, with very little amounts of stress on myself here and there.  I try to keep things as simple and cheap as possible, but sometimes my efforts make things harder than they would have been otherwise! 😂  These photos below are what I turned around and saw as the party was wrapping up.  It turns out, sometimes the simplest things are what kids enjoy most, even a loose water bottle rolling around on the floor.  💙

Hey, thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon.
