A Typical Sunday with the Lawsons

So, at the risk of boring you silly, I thought I would share what a typical Sunday looks like in the Lawson house. My goal was to share the whole week, but for now, we will take it one day at a time. (I tend to overshare, if you haven't noticed already!)

On Sunday mornings, Kyle and I try to wake up between 6-6:30 to get a head start on getting around for church. I usually shower the night before to save time in the morning. Kyle will go shower and shave while I do my makeup and lay out my clothes.

Then we wake the kids up if they're not awake already. Sunday morning breakfast is usually frozen waffles, to save time. Then begins the wrestling match we like to call "getting dressed."

Between L's clothing quirks and K's orneriness, and my annoying desire to take outfit pictures, we will somehow still manage to get out the door by 8:30 (a little earlier than we were used to in Kansas, but we make it work) to head toward the church we've chosen to check out!

We drop the kids off at Bible class before heading to our own. Then during worship, the struggle is real. Our kids usually don't understand the meaning of "quiet time." Worship is really the only place we go that they can't talk freely, so it's understandable that they struggle there. But I usually come with a fully loaded beach bag that has small toys and quiet activities that they won't care about. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍♀️ If you're interested, I may do a post about my church bag later on.

After church, we go find lunch to take home to eat (though today, we were invited over to another family's home for our meal!). Then shortly after lunch, comes NAP TIME (loosely 1:30-2ish). We cherish nap time around here, as i'm sure most parents do! During nap on Sundays, Kyle and I will usually try to lay down as well.

After nap (between 4 and 5), we debate on making a quick, easy supper or ordering delivery. My vote is usually for delivery! Then we kinda hang out until bedtime, which may or may not shock you, because it's at 9pm. 8:30-9 has worked well for us since we don't have to wake up too early most days, and they catch up quite a bit during nap.

Kyle will have to work the next morning so he tries to go to bed early and, while the idea of bed sounds appealing to most moms, I like to finish the kitchen cleanup and then sit my booty down on the couch to watch TV. Since we have DVR again, I've been getting in my fair share of....Hallmark movies. :-)

I also do my meal planning/grocery list during this time. The next day (Monday) is grocery shopping day. This is the screenshot on my phone of this week's meals. For the most part, I try to keep our supper meals on the healthier side, but sometimes my brain just doesn't have any more room for picking through Pinterest and the Internet to find them. Not to mention how picky my kids are! (Okay okay, I still eat like a kid too. We LOVE mac n cheese around here!)

Aaaannnnd, that's it! Oh, you're still here? Awesome! Thanks for following along, even if you are wondering why in the world you just read this post. If you did find it interesting, you may get lucky and find posts about the rest of the week soon. I've gotta write about something, I am a new blogger after all. ๐Ÿ˜‚
