2nd Birthday Celebration!
Our little boy is growing up! And while I don't enjoy the thought of him getting older, I do enjoy planning birthday parties!
Our boy turned two last week, though our celebration has lasted about a month! :-)
Back in February, Kyle had a 4-day-weekend so we made the trip back to Kansas. (P.S. that drive is no joke!)
Anyway, while we were visiting, we had a birthday party for him so that those who loved him would be able to celebrate with him. We went through three themes while we were planning the celebration but finally settled on a mixture between Paw Patrol and Construction.

So, that being said, I have to take a moment to give my mom the credit she's due for baking/decorating this cake! So far, she has been able to make every birthday cake I've needed for my kids and she puts so much heart into each one. She stays up the night before or the morning of and the result is always incredible. But, you can't have her, she's mine. Haha!
So, yeah, he enjoyed his party. Many of our friends and family were able to attend, despite the freezing temps and slick roads at the time!
So we made the trip back with one good celebration in the books. Then, it was up to Mommy and Daddy to do the next on his actual birthday!

We started with our tradition of waking the birthday kid up with a nice balloon dump! I am please to report that it was taken better than ever before. The kids have always been kind of timid around balloons, but he woke up happy this year!
Unfortunately, his birthday morning was spent at the DMV while we attempted to get Texas driver's licenses; but when the wait time had reached longer than an hour, we decided to try again another day and get out of there to do something more fun! (Like eating lunch at the Rainforest Cafe!)
Here, you see happiness, but behind the scenes.... both kids were pretty scared of the whole place. Maybe we will try that again when they're older...
After that, we went home to finish celebrating with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake and his big two-year-old present!
Yep, he's got a big toddler bed now! And so far, we have only had one time when he's had a hard time using it.... but more on that later. :-)
I'm proud of you if you're still reading. I know it's a lengthy post but I highlighted the main parts of our big two-year-old's birthday celebration(s)! If nothing else, I hope I've given you some ideas for your own little one's birthday.
Thanks for reading!

Happy birthday to your little man! That birthday cake is so cute! My son's turning one this coming weekend so I'm still trying to come up with ideas on what treats to make (can you tell I'm a procrastinator?)
ReplyDeletePinterest is the only way I plan anything! ๐ good luck!
