Thankful Thursday
Each Thursday, I want to take the time to write about at least one thing that I'm thankful for. I'm not doing it to brag, I promise. But I do think it's important to make sure you're noticing the GOOD in your life! God blesses us in ways we may never know.

Today, I am thankful that I am finally meeting some other mamas here in the Houston area. Y'all, moving to a brand new place isn't easy. That first week we were here, after Kyle had started work, I felt so isolated. Here I was, hours and hours away from everyone I knew, with nobody to talk to. Don't get me wrong, I was happy to be able to stay home with my babies, but I NEEDED to know I had someone here if I needed them. I'd joined all kinds of meet up groups and mom apps, but none of them gave me what I was needing. (And I probably did make up some excuse every time I could have made it to a meet up...)
The first two Sundays we were here in Houston, I had a sick kiddo both weekends, so we didn't make it to church anywhere. But once we were finally able to start looking for a new congregation to call family, I got my chance to meet some other moms (without having to force it!) and I'm noticing a significant change in myself. Of course I still miss home (Kansas), but having people around makes it SO much easier.
So that's what I'm grateful for today. Other mamas. Other mamas who will pray for me/with me if I need encouragement. Other mamas who have made the effort to get to know me (and our little Lawson family). Other mamas who will likely see my children act CRAZY during worship and not judge me for it. (Actually, that happened just last weekend...)
Be grateful for the people around you who make it easy. And thank God for putting them in your life when you needed them.
Happy Thursday, friends.
